Kovalam, India

We caught the train to Kovalam from Alleppey. The train was different to normal trains, instead of glass windows they had barred windows and instead of seats it had up to three layers of beds! Whenever we stopped at a platform you would get tons of men coming up to your window trying to sell you food.

When we arrived to our stop Kovalam we had to get a thirty minutes tuk-tuk. In the tuk-tuk we all felt so hot, sweaty and crammed with all of our bags. When it was time to get of out of our tuk-tuk we had arrived at our Airbnb, we opened the door seeing a nice Indian family greet us. After our travel day we had a nice sleep getting ready for the next day.

The next day we had a chillout morning and decided to have a swim in the nice wavey warmish sea. On our second day we went for another swim in the sea and went to the Airbnb family’s house for dinner having nice curry and Indian food.

Finally the beach days were over and it was time to go on a thirty minute tuk-tuk to Kerala’s largest mall, Lulus mall. We started of by getting a nice Starbucks drink and then going to a cheap clothes shop that was pretty similar to Primark. After that we felt very hungry and decided to get a Burger King, pizza and Momos then after we had eaten all of our food we went to  a theme park in the mall with a VR station, a tag arena, bowling, zip wire, play area, roller-coaster and arcade games.

Today we headed back to the beach and went bodyboarding which was very fun. I managed to go on a good wave and got very wet, then we got an ice cream.

My opinion of Kovalam is that it’s a nice and relaxing place full of friendly people.
