Busan

From Seoul we took a bullet train south to Busan, South Korea’s second largest city. The train covered 417km in under 2.5 hours and reached speeds of 185mph so the journey literally whizzed by! We only had a couple of days to explore Busan, the first one we took the metro to the beach and rode the Haeundae Sky Capsule along the coast. This was a cute little capsule type sky train that we followed with a walk back along the beach then hung out with the seagulls, who reminded us of our Seaford gull garden visitor friend Mr Face.

On the second day we visited the science museum and spent the afternoon exploring the 3 floors, which was all free of charge. We rated it as one of the best science museums we have been to in the world! It helped that it was pretty empty.

We ate more fried chicken, corn dogs and pork soup.

Then it was the end of the South Korean chapter, which was over far too quickly! But on the plus side it brings us closer to one of our most anticipated countries – Japan! From Busan we are flying to Matsuyama on the island of Shikoku. This will be our shortest flight so far at 1 hour (our previous shortest flight was Luxor to Cairo). We had originally planned to ferry it over but the boats were booked up so we switched to flying. One of the downsides of planning as you go is having to change ideas based on cost and availability but this had added to the adventure and has made us an adaptable unit!

  1. I can envisage a revisit to S.Korea in the future.
As usual the photos are amazing. Obviously Craig has taken them, there is no way that Sarah is able to carry a camera as well as the rest of the luggage😃🏋‍♂️🏋🏋‍♀️
