Tokyo DisneySea

We spent a rainy day at DisneySea with millions of others, including many novelty Mickey ear wearing Japanese schoolgirls who spent most of their time taking selfies. We chose DisneySea over the Land version as it is the only one in the world and we had recently been to Hong Kong Disneyland

Between the rain and the mammoth queues (like, over 2 hours for the main ones) the Disney magic didn’t quite get us this time! We had a fun day, nevertheless. Phoebe’s newfound adventurous streak meant that she and Craig spent most of the day queuing for an adrenalin hit. Her favourite ride was the rollercoaster Raging Spirits.

Sophie and myself mostly sheltered from the rain in Ariel’s playground. It was a particularly good kingdom and we felt as if we had descended into Ariel’s world. Sophie’s favourite ride was Aquatopia on a whirling watercraft.

We managed one ride together on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea where we explored an undersea world in a submarine but Sophie found it terrifying!

Due to the relentless rain we decided to beat the crowd home and skip the nighttime fireworks. As we were exiting an announcement came through to advise that the fireworks were cancelled, so we were pleased not to have missed out afterall. My advice to any Disney fans – fly to Hong Kong or Florida!
